Tell It Goodbye Countdown
Bonds - Sept. 21, 1999

The Giants lost their fourth straight and their second to the Dodgers in a 9-4 defeat at Chavez Ravine on Tuesday night. The longball was Los Angeles' chief weapon — they launched four of them over the course of the game. Barry Bonds recorded the only homer for San Francisco, a monstrous solo shot to start the sixth inning, his 33rd on the season.

In his first Major League start, Dodgers southpaw Jeff Williams limited San Francisco to a pair of hits over five innings. The one run he allowed was unearned.

Kirk Rueter was not sharp en route to his ninth loss of the season. He gave up five runs on seven hits and was removed with two outs in the fifth inning. FULL RECAP

On Deck

Follow along with Fox Sports Net Bay Area's telecast or the Virtual Dugout's live game audio.
